Kingston Estate has been at the forefront of Merlot develpoment in Australia and has been producing single varietal wines from select vineyards in the South Australian Riverland region since 1988. Our desire to develop a benchmark Australian style for Merlot has been an on-going challenge and one that has required significant trials in vineyard selection and growing techniques. In the cellar we have concentrated our efforts on fermentation technique and the use of oak in both fermentation and maturation. This vintage continued our search for the perfect Merlot. Cool climate King Vallet Merlot was again used to balance the richer, fuller style we produce in the riverland.
